About GIS:

Geographical Information System (GIS) has evolved as a powerful analytical tool for capturing, storing, manipulating, integrating, organizing, analyzing and displaying geographic data and capable of combining both spatial data (Map) with non-spatial data ( Tabular data) for planning, decision making, implementation and monitoring of various plans / schemes at different level.


About Ganjam:

Ganjam District at present extending from 19.4 degree North Latitude to 20.17 degree North Latitude and 84.7 degree East Longitude to 85.12 degree East Longitude spreading over the Geographical Area of 8070.60 square km. There are 22 blocks, 475 Gps, 19 Urban bodies, 3212 villages, 29 police stations and 13 Assembly Constituencies. Ganjam district is broadly divided into two divisions, the coastal plains area in the east and hill and table lands in the west. The eastern ghats run along the western side of the district. The plains lies between the eastern ghats and the Bay of Bengal. The extreme north east is occupied by a portion of the famous Chilika lake.

Query Report

A user interface where the users would be able to browse the map  layer/layers . Here, the user will get 3 options: 1. Browse Layer, 2. Identify and 3. Map mode . One can activate/display the layers in the Browse Map mode only. To Browse a layer, one has to activate the Browse Map mode, then select the layers from the table followed by “Refresh Map” option so that the selected layer will display on the Map frame.

From the main menu, an user can directly go to the Query Based Map generation table by selecting Query Map option. One can generate village wise maps applying conditions. User has to select the parameters as per her/his interest from the Menu and has to provide the conditions and values. Map title can be provided by the user. Then click on Draw map option followed by View Map option. The Map will display satisfying the query.

A flexible user interface where the users would select the theme or parameter to generate  a dynamic thematic/ choropleth map at Block Level.Automatically, the field is devided in to 5 ranges basing on its Minimum & Maximum value. A user can change the range values as per her/his requirement. Map title can be provided by the user. Then click on Submit option followed by View Map option. The Block Map will display satisfying the range Values.

From the main menu, an user can directly go to the Query Report generation table by selecting Query Report option. One can generate village/gp/block wise maps applying conditions. User has to select the parameters as per her/his interest from the Menu and has to provide the conditions and values.Then click on Draw Table option.The Report will display satisfying the query.
